We're hiring!

  • Do people tell you that you sing like a Disney princess or prince? (And it's true?)

  • Do you wish you could find a part-time job that actually uses your musical skills, talents, and training?

  • Do you like to leave your work at work so you can focus on your family and your music or theater career?

  • Do you love making $29 - $39 per hour while singing, laughing, and playing?

This is a seriously super fun and rewarding job, and I can't wait to find the perfect fit for this position and welcome you to our community of talented, friendly, and fun-loving teachers. Musicality, personality, and dependability count more than previous work experience, so if this job description is calling to you, please don't hesitate to reach out to learn more, even if you've never taught a day in your life. (I hadn't either when I started!)

Now the official job posting stuff: Seeking an energetic, dedicated, and responsible teacher/facilitator, with a passion for music, play, and working with infants, young children, and parents in a "caregiver and me" class setting for approximately 4 - 10 hours / week. This is a perfect part-time job for singers / actors as you will utilize your singing and performance skills in each class. Once trained, there is zero work outside of the classroom.

Please note: Must have Saturday morning morning availability, and some weekday morning and/or afternoon availability is preferred. Most classes take place between 8:30 AM - 1:00 PM and 4:00 - 7:30 PM.

Job Basics

  • Facilitate high-energy parent-child and/or preschool music classes. (Full teaching curriculum will be provided.)

  • Must have a happy, playful, and positive personality and enjoy singing, song dramatization, and movement.

  • Must have the ability to engage children 4 months – kindergarten through songs, movement and various age-appropriate musical activities.

  • Must be able to learn and retain songs and chants (along with matching movements) efficiently and correctly.

Minimum Requirements

  • Pleasant and tuneful singing voice (all classes are sung a cappella so a strong musical ear is required; applicants with vocal training are strongly preferred)

  • Experience with babies and/or young children is a must (personal and/or professional). Dependability and personality count more than previous work experience for these positions.

  • Commitment to ongoing learning and program development

  • Must be enthusiastic, engaging, upbeat, fun-loving, and patient, and have extremely strong interpersonal skills

  • Must have reliable transportation, as the classes are located in Brookfield, approximately 15 miles west of Chicago.

Please email your resume and a brief cover letter explaining why you are a great fit for the Brookfield Academy for Mini Musicians to info@bfminis.com. Also, please attach acapella recordings of “Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star” and “Happy Birthday to You,” starting both tunes on Middle C. The recordings do not need to be professional (on your phone is fine!). I am simply listening for a pleasant and tuneful voice, as our classes are led without any accompaniment.

In addition to emailing your resume, cover letter, and recordings, please fill out the form below.
